Anacapri, Italy Capri is Jackie 0 sunglasses but Anacapri was always in the shade of the rest of the island. Until Villa Le Scale came along, that is. It's the new cool place to be. This bewitching old villa is antiquecontemporary, with gardens of cascading terraces and gazebos, fragrant with jasmine and lavender.
Think creamy stucco walls, Florentine inlaidmarble tables, Indianglass table lamps. If you wake up in the bronze and green Venetian Room, a gilded archway leads to a Turkish bath. Le Scale has the island's prettiest pool. A lavenderscented breath from the Blue Grotto, the villa is next to Julia Roberts's favourite shoe shop, the Art of the Sandal.
