It's still hard to imagine that Villa le Scale of Anacapri, Italy exists in today’s world of hotels and villas where guests are sometimes treated like average citizens, but not here!! Last September, we had our wedding at the Villa and it was even more amazing and special than we ever imagined possible. Our wedding day and week-long vacation stay at the Villa exceeded all of our expectations. The house and its landscaping, including each individual room, were absolutely breathtaking -- even more beautiful in person than they appear on the website. The service was first rate, from beginning to end. The moment we arrived at the Villa we were greeted with warm house welcomes of pistachios and lightly chilled spumante and then later given a grand tour and history lesson of the Villa. After being escorted to our rooms, to our surprise, there awaited a complimentary wedding package of sweets and champagne that made the nervousness of marriage gently fade into the rich blue sea below. It was truly as if we entered another world!! We cannot even begin to say enough about the service -- it appeared almost effortless -- each staff member was so gracious and attentive but not overbearing. Vincent Copeland, the front office manager, was extraordinarily helpful, kind and patient - from helping to plan our daily excursions and providing us with great recommendations on restaurants around the island (all of which were top notch) to helping a frantic bride fix a broken shoe the night before her wedding. He went above and beyond his responsibilities to ensure our stay was perfect in every way. Our individual room was stunning, full of the most beautiful antiques and furnishings -the epitome of style, class, sophistication and history, all in one. Our room, the Voyager, included a large terrace that overlooked the rich blue sea below and was dressed with beautiful flowers and potted lemon trees -- it was here where we ate breakfast each morning and enjoyed a glass of wine at night. Every breakfast and lunch was served with such an attention to detail with the freshest fruits and olives adorning every plate. Anna Maria Coronato (the Villa's owner) was a warm and gracious host. She made sure that we had everything we needed for the wedding and personally made sure that every detail was taken care of for us. We were so overwhelmed to see Anna Maria working so hard the day before our wedding to personally decorate with her own special touches the Secret Garden and terraces where we held the ceremony, a champagne toast, and private dinner for just the two of us. The settings were absolutely breathtaking. Our private dinner, accompanied by the sweetest sounds of an Italian guitarist, was easily the best meal we had ever had. Anna Maria, Vincent, and staff created an atmosphere of love and intimacy which will live in our hearts forever. We will always love Villa Le Scale and plan to see our old friends again very soon!!
