			< Back "Heaven on earth" Date: July 02, 2006 Reviewer: A TripAdvisor Member, Knoxville, TN Villa Le Scale is heaven on earth. I stayed with my boyfriend and six friends for a week and absolutely loved the villa, Anacapri, and the rest of the Isle of Capri. Everyone in the group has travelled extensively for both business and leisure'.and some are harder to please than others. We all agree this was an ideal experience. Rooms - the owner is an art and antique collector and has individually appointed the rooms in such a way to give each room great personality. They were filled with beautiful art and antiques, but were not 'stuffy'. The rooms that the eight of us had all had balconies that were private and brimming with jasmine and honeysuckle. The bed was most comfortable, the air conditioner worked great (sometimes hard to find even if you are staying at certain Ritz-Carltons J). The rooms also have lovely bath amenities, whether it's a Turkish bath, a sunken tub, or a shower the size of some bathrooms, they were all finished nicely. Plus, they had towel warmers, bidets, etc. Service - Words cannot do justice to the service we received. Vincent, the manager, always had the BEST recommendations for dinner and excursions. He would make all of the arrangements so that we had nothing to worry about on our holiday. Very stress-free! He is also a very nice and interesting person just to talk with. Other members of the staff - Guitano, Maria, and Bendu (I apologize if the spelling is incorrect) were delightful. They were always ready to assist but were not looming. Nice, friendly, efficient. Perfect! In particular, Vincent arranged for us to rent a yacht for the day and we circled the Isle, swam the Green Grotto, saw many sights and headed over to Positano for some shopping/sightseeing. It could not have been more fun, or more perfect! Food - We had several meals at the villa and all were prepared to suit. Nicely presented, using only the freshest ingredients. Breakfast was served on our balcony every morning with a lovely view of the gardens and the sea. It really was wonderful. Grounds - Each day, we all managed to spend some part of our day by the pool. The pool was so nice and inviting, kept cool despite a heat wave so it was refreshing. The gardens were absolutely gorgeous, teeming with tropical flowers resident turtles, a fountain with fish. Lovely. Value - While the there are less expensive places to stay on Capri, for a truly stress-free, relaxing, pampered, and fun experience - Villa Le Scale is my vote! Also, I highly recommend arranging with the Villa to have a driver pick you up from the airport, deliver you to the ferry, and be picked up again. It saves time and avoids so much hassle and luggage handling issues. I'm sure I am leaving out something, but since everything was so lovely, just check the 'excellent box' for me. < Back
